the abyss from whence
you fucking came
let mine go!
you don't belong here
your eyes that sear
have found a wrongful home!

SLIPPING THROUGH THE CRACKS
I hear them ooze
beneath my tissue
gnawing on the sinew
of my subconscious
writhing and worming
like a million hungry maggots
their voracity unfathomable
as they chew through
my infirm barriers
those erected when my heart bleeds
BLEEDS HOPE
they whisper promises
of better ways to cope
and like a mindless fool
I relinquish control
to taste this opportunity
but my mouth is already
full
I'm choking on my own breath!
I don't ever seem to realize it
pretending that I can breathe
while they engorge
my throat
distending every crevice
trying to surface
and remind me
that there're only demons
dwelling in my chest
this rib cage
cannot contain them
I am but a product
of mortal failure
and there's no cure
NO CURE
I belong here

there can be no victory here
I am blind to delusion

I can see clearly now
IT’S GOD STATUS INSIDE OF ME

how to live on my KNEES
and weakly relinquish
control of my life
to the malicious deity
INHABITING ME
it has become a God!
and I am its inferior follower
no matter THE HORROR

The virus is spreading
its arachnid fingers
itchy and meticulous
tickling the inside
of my skull
I can hear their skittering
like eight-legged voices
gambling
on when I'll squeeze
the trigger
AND PLAY HOPSCOTCH
IN TRAFFIC
their pool is getting high
while I sink deeper
splashing
in this quicksand rat race
but the contagion
has me convinced
that it's futile
I like my chances
now that I've developed
acceptance
so I bet on myself
(they don't realize
that I know myself
better than they do)
BUT THAT’S WHERE I’M WRONG
THE VIRUS HAS BECOME
MORE LIKE ME
WITH EACH MISSTEP
and this tarpit
has leaked into my cavity
I've a black heart
WHEN NOBODY IS WATCHING
I’VE A BLACK HEART
when they've gotten their way
this contagion is HERE TO STAY
